You are listening to "Fanfare for the Common Man" by Aaron Copland.
The fanfare was also used as the main theme of the fourth movement
of Copland's Third Symphony which was completed in 1946 and given given its premiere on October 18 of that year, by the
Boston Symphony Orchestra under Serge Koussevitzky. Both my Grandfather, Rene and my Father, Roger were members of the Boston Symphony and played the premiere performance of
this great symphony. The score to the original fanfare is currently at the U.S. Library of Congress.
