"La Torche" is scored for Brass Quintet, 4 trumpets and church organ.
It is dedicated to my
father, Roger L. Voisin.
"La Torche" represents the "passing" of knowlege and values
from his generation to future generations.
At the end of the composition, I have directed (in the score)
for the trumpet players to hold up their trumpets bell-high as "torches" to signify their dedication to my father's
values...
"Serve Music, don't have music serve you"
This value he learned from his teacher
and father, Rene Voisin.
